Quilted Placemats with Palette Fabrics by Tim Holtz

Hello friends! Can you believe we are halfway through the Palette Fabric Collection by Tim Holtz for FreeSpirit Fabrics. I've made a Caddy, Organizers, Totes, Coasters Trivets, Zipper Pouches, Duffle Bags, Drawstring Bags, Pillows, Quilts, Aprons and more projects are coming. I'm even going to make a some clothes.
This month I thought how about some placemats? I like to have a beautiful table and the Palette Fabrics were perfect. I guess I'll need some napkins to go with them right? I searched Pinterest and found this FREE pattern by Cedar Quilt Co. The pattern includes 24 different designs so there is a lot to choose from. The pattern was easy to follow and has some time saving techniques for the half square triangles.

Here are the 6 Placemats I made using some of the yellow, orange and teal Palette Fabrics.
Star and Pinwheel pattern

Harlequin and strip pattern

Geometric patterns

I choose 4 fabrics from 3 of the colors from Tim Holtz Palette Collection fro a total of 12 fabrics.
I really love how these colors went together.

I sewed my 1/2 square triangles together.

Tried them to size.

Layer out my first placemat.

Sewed them all together.

Layered them with Soft and Stable and quilted them and added the binding.

Here's the fabric on the back, I had to use the beautiful Palette Teal Butterflies fabric.

My daughter Ashely came up with the idea to make some placemats so I think she will love these. She's going to have a beautiful table don't you think?

Thanks so much for stopping by!
